Have You Read Your Pet’s Food Label?

Good information about what we should be feeding our pets. It’s very easy for inside cats, especially, to become obese if they are fed on a diet of carbohydrates, which predominate many dry foods.

In our house we have been on a healthy eating journey. We are trying to cut down on processed foods and foods with chemicals in them. Its has been a great experience and has had wonderful affects for the health of my whole family. Well, my whole human family. I hate to say it but I totally forgot about my furry family. I assumed that because I was feeding my pets a good name brand food that it would be full of good healthy ingredients. Then I recently read an article about the worst brands to feed your dog.  It had all the brands I expected on it, the lower priced foods. I pay over $50 per bag for my food and I never expected to see “higher priced/ quality” foods on the list. Even some foods that are sold in most veterinary offices.

I started doing some research on…

Les chats du toit de Strasbourg~

Reblog of Cindy Knoke’s “Les chats de Strasbourg”. Her photographs are amazing and her subjects engaging!

Strasbourg’s cats live on steep rooftops,

rest on high windowsills,

sleep on chimney tops,

stalk pigeons on ridgelines, and enter and exit their homes via high rooftop windows.
They notice, eventually, the biped with telephoto, and I could see it shocked them, to be watched so quietly, so intently, like they watch everything.

Lucky felines. No bipedal landlubbing for these cool-cats.

They much prefer looking down on mere humans.

Of course, some poor cats have yet to claim their rooftop-aeries,

and have to settle for schlepping down-low with humans.

Cheers to you from all the cool cats~

CFFC: Legs and Feet

My cat Hazel loves to sleep on or between people’s legs! In the winter, she prefers a cozy, warm blanket to be covering the human’s legs.

If she’s very content, she’ll take a cat nap with one leg stretched out.

Sometimes she needs to have her claws clipped! Two people (at least) are required: one to hold her down and one to use the clippers.

Lily & Ardbeg

This was such a beautiful story, I couldn’t resist reblogging it. From Lulyandardberg.

Lily and Ardbeg are my dogs. My life revolves around them, I think about them, talk about them and write about them. They are rescue dogs, both with a bad past and a great future.

Ardbeg had been abused by his previous owners. He had been beaten and kicked, his tail is broken, he bears multiple scars, three of which have a special significance to me. He’s always been terrified by loud, banging noises, fireworks and thunder. It’s only recently that I’ve found out he has three air gun pellets in his little body. It’s made me understand his fears better and his three scars are a reminder he needs my care, my calmness and my compensation for all he’d suffered.

Lily spent the first year of her life in one room with other dogs. She didn’t know there was a world outside. She was then taken to an overcrowded…
